Anni Puuperä is a Helsinki-based freelance choreographer, performer and dance teacher.
She graduated in 2011 from Savonia Applied Sciences as a dance teacher in contemporary dance. Since her graduation Anni has worked as as dance artist and dance teacher. She has performed in various dance festivals in Finland and abroad, for example in Kuopio Dance festival, Urbanapa festival and Young choreographers festival in Moscow. Since 2013 Anni has been part of Theatre Pluckhouses`performance group "Nopean toiminnan joukot". Recently she has collaborated with Essi Kausalainen (in performance "Newcomers") and with Satu Rinnetmäki (Trash land & POST POST NATURE).
Currently she is creating a new project "Z-nuoret". During spring 2018 Anni will create a performance in collaboration with a group of young people. Premiere will be 17.5.2018 at Zodiak stage in Helsinki. More info:
In her work she is interested in researching the politics of a body and performance. With her artistic work she wants to finds ways to shake existing power relations in society. Anni is also interested in post-humanist viewpoint to making performances and working in collaboration with non-human performers. Anni works mainly with improvisation, movement research and choreographic improvisation.
